I am taking a road trip with my dog and have been staying at Motel 6 sites because the price is good and they don't charge extra fees for dogs. I expect a no frills experience because of their rates, but I have to say that this location is the best I have seen. The location is beautiful, the room was clean and had everything I needed, and the service was great.
Stayed here last minute and were pleasantly surprised. Grounds were well kept and room was quite large, 2 queen beds here. No coffee in room, but we knew this coming in. There was a pool and it looked clean and well kept. Parking was very convenient. It was also very quiet. Mayne because it was a Thursday. There was construction on the entrance, but that was out of their control. Large TV in room and mid sized refrigerator and freezer. Plus a microwave. Not many walking options to eat, but it's a close drive to Costco! Cheapest gas in the area. Will definitely give this place a try again.Maybe bring my own coffee maker.
Paying arrangements for weekly staying with split payments needs to be addressed. Weekly rates change to much. Should have weekly fixed prices for someone that stays weeks at a time. The rooms where cleaned and the staff scheduled room to be cleaned around our work schedule ( ++ ).. Most front desk Associates felt like they could not make decisions without management approval. Looks like more training needs to be done and or corporate has to review there software. First time at a place that had so many restrictions with paying and scheduling 4 weeks to stay. All other Hotels and Motels are happy too take your payments and give you a deal for staying weeks at a time. No review of your driver's license or giving your credit card information every time / weekly, its on file. Most difficult location yet and I travel and work in all the States. First time here in California and this Motel 6 left me a bad taste.. At lease the staff had patients with us and this location is kept up and very clean. Big screen TV with good channels. Location staff keeps the area always cleaned as far as my 4 week stay. Excellent job with that. Perfect location for day by day staying or for a week or so.

Know before you go
- Consider bringing your own coffee maker if you prefer in-room coffee
- Check room availability away from potential noisy areas for a quieter stay
- Plan visits during weekdays for a more peaceful experience due to less traffic and construction noises
- If staying long-term, inquire about fixed weekly rates instead of fluctuating prices
Reviews
Motel 6 San Luis Obispo, CA - South pleasantly surprises guests with its well-kept grounds and spacious rooms featuring large TVs, refrigerators, freezers, and microwaves. The pool is clean and convenient parking adds to the positive experience. Despite some noise from neighboring rooms in certain cases, the comfortable beds ensure a good night's sleep. While lacking amenities like coffee makers or breakfast options, the motel offers excellent value for an affordable stay.

So you dont expect much with a Motel 6 but this is one of the nicer locations i have stayed at. It was affordable.. very clean.. comfy bed.. loved the slight wilderness feel outside and the girl at the front desk late night was absolutely a gem!! Super helpful and accommodating.
Disappointing, You get what you pay for tho. It’s a cheap place to stay with zero frills. Check in staff was less than friendly. There was not top comforter on the bed. Just a thin sheet, a thin fleece blanket, and a third thin sheet on top instead of a comforter, not ideal. The walls were super thin and you could hear conversations from neighboring rooms, as well as their TVs at night. No breakfast. Not the worst stay, but definitely not the worst.
