My occulus suddenly started shutting down. It says things like Oculus core mobile services.Keep stopping and then it shuts down. Any tips??

Hi there, @tylersusvrgt! We certainly want to make sure you're able to jump back into the VR world without any further interruptions, so we popped in to help out! To start with, we did want to clarify, does this error show on a particular game on your headset? Does it pop up in the headset's home environment? Also, what color is the LED light on your headset when it is plugged up to charge? Keep us updated and we can continue from there!

Thank you for your quick response
The headset light is red Although it's been charging all night.. I am not able to find the headset on my phone. My son mentioned that before this happened, he was playing gorilla tag, and it felt like someone else was controlling his his moves. He wasn't using the controllers.However he was moving. The message occurs when I put the v r on and within in a minute it powers down, i'm unable to access anything. I restarted the device multiple times.
This happened gradually over 30 minutes. 1st , my son said someone was controlling his moves. I then went into the oculus and was able to get on a game, but messages kept on popping up and disrupting the game, then it said I was no longer connected to the internet.Now i'm not able to get in the oculus at all, and can't find it on my phone. Is it possible, someone hacked the oculus? I did change my password in pin number. All of his games are still listed in his gallery as per my phone. Thanks

Hey @tylersusvrgt,
We don't think it is hacked because all of your applications are still there in your account as you mentioned. Could you please try to do a hard reboot:
- Hold down the power button and volume down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound
- If the boot-up sound is not heard:
- Hold the power and volume (-) button down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
- Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight "Boot Device" and press the power button.
- Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.
- Remove any unsupported third-party accessories that may affect boot (such as external battery packs, accessories that plug into the USB-C port, etc.)
If it still doesn't work, please let us know.

We tried rebooting, it says v r metaquest cam keeps stopping ,the same notification we got before and shuts down.

Hi @tylersusvrgt ,
We think the problem is occurring due to blocking of the proximity sensor in your headset. Please can you try this trouble shooting steps:
- If the eyeglass spacer is in use: confirm it is seated correctly and not blocking the proximity sensor
- Verify the facial interface is seated correctly and not blocking the proximity sensor(remove any 3rd party accessories)
- Ensure nothing is getting inside the headset under the facial interface such as hair
- Change the Auto-Sleep timer to anything longer than 15 seconds
- While this does not fix the faulty proximity sensor, the sensor is likely still detecting the user once in a while and may be enough to resolve the issue.
To access the Auto-Sleep settings:
- Access the universal menu by pressing the image.png Menu button on the right Touch controller.
- Select the Quick Settings panel (the area with the clock) to view the device settings.image.png
- Click the image.png Settings button in the upper right corner.
- Click the System tile.
- Select the Power menu to access the Auto-Sleep setting.
